Cabinet anarchy as Chequers summit looms

Alexander argues for the UK to remain in the European Internal Electricity Market post-Brexit. As most British utilities are majority owned by the European companies and at least 50% of shares of interconnectors with GB are owned by European TSOs, crashing out from the common regulatory regime for electricity will destabilise the industry and will lead to the increase in energy prices for the consumers.

He also adds: “Business will support clarity. All of us, with small exceptions, say we need to be in the customs union and be part of EU regulation. Theresa is a good lady with strong morality, but she doesn’t have political intuition.”
